Good Works Scholarship

Robert Payton once asked: “do we live for philanthropy or do we live off philanthropy?” It’s a question we at Ethos consistently ask ourselves because we believe it’s important to strive each day to live for philanthropy and the good works our clients do.

We believe the role of fundraising consultants should be to inspire organizations to thrive, empower nonprofit staff, volunteers, and board members to achieve their greatest potential, and to build a better world by helping to build great nonprofits. As such, we don’t believe a nonprofit should be turned away simply through an inability to pay.

In the spirit of Payton’s question, Ethos launched our Good Works Scholarship. Awarded on a rolling basis to 2-3 nonprofits at a given time, Ethos is committed to ensuring that merit-based nonprofits demonstrating a financial need for consulting have an opportunity to benefit from our services.

Here’s how it works:

Applications

Only completed applications will be considered. Answer each question to the best of your ability. The application will be your opportunity to share why your organization is deserving and the projects for which you want to fundraise. All projects will be considered, regardless of size.

Interviews

Selected applications will advance to an interview round. At this stage, it is important that key board members, the executive director, and the development director (if your organization has one) are present for this interview.

Notification

Applications receiving the scholarship will be notified 30-60 days after the interview and will receive a scholarship package that outlines the services Ethos will provide, a timeline, and other pertinent details for launch.
